Introduction
The Garden of Gratitude at Gwanghwamun Square is a space that honors Korean War veterans and reflects on the Republic of Korea’s journey from a nation that once received aid to one that now extends help to others, along with its achievements and prosperity. “Light of Gratitude 23” features 23 symbolic sculptures that stand quietly yet majestically at the center of the square, expressing the deepest respect and appreciation for the noble sacrifices of the countries that came to the defense of Korea’s freedom and peace. Freedom Hall, located beneath Gwanghwamun Square, is an immersive multimedia space where visitors can experience themes of freedom, sacrifice, peace, and gratitude in relation to the nations that participated in the Korean War.
